Two of the most powerful rumored villains for Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four have now been brought to life in stellar new MCU fan art. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige first teased the development of a Fantastic Four reboot for the MCU in 2019, shortly after Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox. WandaVision's Matt Shakman was hired as Fantastic Four's director following Jon Watts' exit from the project, and though announcements have yet to be made concerning the casting of Fantastic Four's titular heroes, several iconic Marvel Comics villains have been speculated to be appearing in the highly-anticipated Phase 6 movie.

Galactus and the Silver Surfer were rumored to be in Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four back in April 2023, as Jeff Sneider suggested on The Hot Mic. While nothing has been confirmed, this speculation has only gained traction since then, and new fan art shared by Hazzaa Jarrar has imagined what Galactus and the Silver Surfer's MCU debut could look like.

The art puts the Silver Surfer front-and-center in his own Marvel Studios project, while Galactus looms overhead. While it's possible they could lead their own adventure, Phase 6's Fantastic Four would be the perfect place for them to be introduced.

While insider Jeff Sneider's claims that Galactus and the Silver Surfer will appear in Fantastic Four are still unconfirmed, his reveal could explain more about what the MCU's Fantastic Four reboot will look like. Galactus and the Silver Surfer are cosmic beings, with the latter traveling the universe searching for suitable planets for the former to devour. Their potential debut in Fantastic Four suggests the project will be a space-faring adventure, rather than the relatively Earth-based stories of previous adaptations of Marvel's First Family. Sneider reinforced these ideas on The Hot Mic, suggesting that Fantastic Four would be "very cosmic."

I'm told that Matt Shakman is planning to go very cosmic with his 'Fantastic Four' movie. Lots of 1960s elements, and that the film will feature both Galactus and the Silver Surfer.

More recently, Javier Bardem was rumored to be Marvel Studios' top pick to portray Galactus in the MCU (via The Insneider). Bardem's commanding performances in No Country for Old Men, Before Night Falls and Being the Ricardos prove that he would be a fantastic choice for Galactus. 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer controversially adapted Galactus into a cloud, so it would be best for Marvel Studios to give him a more human appearance. While it's unknown if Galactus and the Silver Surfer will appear in Fantastic Four, their debuts would change the shape of the MCU forever.
